About Hansa

Trusted people.
Useful introductions.

Hansa is a quiet network where people who vouch for each other help each other get things done: a supplier, a client, a second opinion, a door opened.

The name

Eight hundred years ago, merchant towns across northern Europe formed the Hanse. It wasn't a company or a government. It was a league of towns that agreed to trade on shared rules and good faith, so goods and credit could move between cities that had never met.

Hansa borrows the name and the idea: a network where trust travels, and value moves with it.

Why it matters

Most good work comes through someone who knows someone. But that path is slow and uneven, and it's closed to many people who deserve it. Feeds are noisy, cold messages go unanswered, and the person best placed to help often never hears about it.

Hansa makes the warm path the easy one.

How it works

  1. 1Someone vouches for youEvery member is invited by someone who knows their work first-hand. That's the only way in.
  2. 2Say what you need, in a sentenceNobody sees your name until you're introduced.
  3. 3We find someone you can trust, and ask them firstIf they say yes, we introduce you both by email. Then it's over to you.
  4. 4Tell us how it wentWhen an intro works, everyone who helped it happen earns Seeds.

What you get

  • Help through someone you trust

Every introduction travels through people who know each other, never a cold message from a stranger.

  • Quiet by design

One email a week at most, and only when something needs you. No feed, no chat, no profiles to scroll.

  • Private by default

Nobody can browse you. Names are shared only when both people say yes.

  • Opportunities that reach the right few

Work, roles and referrals go to the handful of people they fit, not to everyone.

  • Credit for being useful

You earn Seeds when you help, answer in time and connect people well. They never buy you rank.

What we ask of you

  • Be useful. Answer when you can, and say no when you can't; both help.
  • Vouch only for people whose work you know first-hand.
  • Pass on what you hear about: work, roles, a client who needs someone.
  • Tell us how intros went, so the next one is better.

Value that sits still helps nobody. Hansa exists to keep it moving.

Privacy

What we keep. Your name and email, the work, skills, places and interests you choose, what you ask for and offer, the intros you make and how they went, and your Seeds. Payments go through Paystack; we never see your card or M-Pesa PIN.

How we use it. Only to find you good matches and to run Hansa. Nobody can browse your details, and your name is shared only when both people say yes to an intro. What you write in an ask is stored encrypted. We don't sell your data or show ads.

Who helps us. Supabase hosts the database (in Ireland), Resend sends our email, Paystack takes payments and Lovable hosts the app. Each sees only what it needs to do its job.

Your rights. Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can see, correct or delete what we hold. Download all of it, or delete your account, from Settings; deletion completes after 30 days. To ask anything else, use Contact support in Settings.

Terms of use

  • Hansa is by invitation. Use one account, in your own name, and vouch only for people whose work you know first-hand.
  • Don't post investment offers, scams, hate, harassment, sexual content, illegal goods or anyone's contact details. We may hold, close or reword-and-return posts that do, and suspend or remove members who keep doing it. You can appeal any decision.
  • Seeds are credits for using Hansa. They have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money. Earned Seeds expire after 12 months; bought Seeds don't expire.
  • We make introductions. What you agree with the people you meet is between you; Hansa isn't a party to it and can't guarantee how it turns out.
  • We'll email you before we make any change to these terms that matters.
